I’m Multitask Challenged…

I am a guy after all, I have an excuse.  No, but what I am getting at here is the fact that with a MMORPG such as WoW there are soooo many things you can do to keep yourself occupied.  I really should write down a list of things I would like to accomplish, but where’s the fun in that?

My problem is I want to do a lot of things in the game and sometimes I forget to catch up on certain skills that I meant to have maxed out a long time ago, i.e., cooking skill, as of right now I am sitting at around 365 cooking skill, and I found The Rokk in the Lower City of Shattrath to do the cooking daily quest, mo money…  There are a lot of recipes you can pick up either on the AH if you are lazy and don’t want to go find them, or you can go find Supply Officer Mill who is in the northwest guard tower at Allerian Stronghold.  Along with giving you some gold you also can pick between a box of fish or a box of meat as a reward, the boxes contain various food and even recipes sometimes.

Another things I have been working on is my fishing skill, currently sitting around 208, I know I have been slacking, I found a nice website dedicated to everything related to fishing in the World of Warcraft, El’s Extreme Anglin’ – WoW Fishing Guide.  At this site you can find just about anything you would want to find out.  One nice little tidbit of information that I was not aware of was that your fishing skill will go up no matter where you cast your line, and this whole time I thought I had to go to a higher level zone to get it skilled up, guess I was wrong, not the first time.  If you are serious about fishing I recommend you go visit Seth who is fairly close to The Rokk in Lower City he gives you the quest, Rather Be Fishin’, and the quest itself is simple enough if you are at least level 62 or so, go kill the eels in the little pond just northeast of Shat to collect the items needed, the reward is a nice fishing pole that adds +20 to your fishing skill and +52 stamina.  I would do the wowhead link but I am have limited access here because of the man and his stinking firewalls…but you get the idea.

Also, I haven’t done much research, so I don’t know, but my weapon skill, staff to be exact is still pretty low somewhere around 315, so I made my way out to the blasted lands to beat up on the servants there who don’t die…and once again I don’t know if a higher weapon skill translates to more damage while in feral form, but I am sure it doesn’t hurt.

I had a pretty good day yesterday as far as making some gold goes, I decided to go do some quests in Netherstorm that I hadn’t gotten done prior to hitting level 70.  After about 4 hours of questing I managed to make around 170 gold, that is with 2 daily quests and the rest regular quests.  Not too bad really, I am glad I still have so many quests to do, it just means more easy money for me.  Right now I am sitting at a total of 2475g between my characters, almost halfway there.  I am shooting to have 5k gold by the end of this month, I will try to remember to come back to this post and see where I am at in 28 days.

Does anyone else have issues with the sound in the game when you are using Ventrillo?  I don’t know if it the hotkey I am using, left ctrl or what, but whenever  I am on vent the sound in the game just shuts itself off and back on sometimes.  It is very strange, and usually I don’t care if the sound is on, except when I am in the battleground, I like having that extra sense to add to my awareness of my surroundings, you know the stealth person moving by you noise and stuff…I have checked all my settings and my drivers are all updated, I have no clue why it turns on the sound in the game.  If anyone has dealt with this and knows why it happens or how I can stop it from happening feel free to leave a comment, thanks.

Feedburner is a GO.

Just in case you already read my blog through the rss feed I wanted to let you know I am now using feedburner, so if you would like to, feel free to go to my page and subscribe using the little green button there under my email address.

Update:  If you are a subscriber to my feed you don’t need to do anything…but there are 2 buttons under my email address one for entries, the other for comments…just fyi.

I hope this makes reading this that much more betterer…er, yeah, let me know if you have any problems, I am still a feedburner noob of sorts…

No news on the WoW front, been working, sick, sleeping if I am not at work…oh, I don’t think I shared, the other day I finally reached reveered status with Sporeggar in Zangarmash, so I got the transmute primal earth to primal water recipe, and you won’t believe what else happened, as I was transmuting my first primal earth, I discovered how to transmute primal life to primal water, I was pretty happy about that.  By the way in case you don’t know, primal earth on my server anyway go from anywhere between 2g50s to 3g a piece and primal water sells from 15g to 17g a piece, you can do the math there…if memory serves me correctly I am sitting at around 1800g, still a long way away from the 5k needed for epic flight training…slowly but surely I will get there.

Man uh T?

So, where was I? Oh yes, ahem, I hereby announce that I have nothing important to talk about…no, I josh…I do have something to say or else why would there be a post here?

Enough with the questioning stuff, I tend to find myself doing this more often than is healthy.  So, as most of you know, there is the “support” site called Blog Azeroth and at this place there is a growing number of bloggers of the World of Warcraft have come together to share thoughts and ideas about blogging and WoW in general.

There was a challenge you could say that was put up in the druid forums…

Challenge:
Hypothetical situation: Blizzard has introduced a new underwater zone to WoW. Due to this, they start giving all classes underwater abilities. The druid seal form is now utilized for more than simple travel.

Your goal: Design abilities for the seal form! Is the seal a healer? Magical dps? Physical dps? Tank? Utility? CC? Something entirely new?

I like this idea a lot, partly because I enjoy combat underwater especially when in seal form, yes, druids can do physical damage when in seal form.  It isn’t much, but it is something, as far as the challenge goes, I have something different in mind besides simple physical damage.

I am thinking a combination of CC, something new, the CC part could be a few different spells similar to OP cyclone, which I love by the way, but this could be called the torrent: a violent swirling mass of water surges from the depths and encompasses the victim, rendering them useless for 6 seconds and at the same time leaving a DoT on them for an additional 20 seconds, does this sound OP to you?  Perhaps, but wait it gets better…

Along with having a CC spell, the new and improved Man uh T druid form also gives you the ability to perform group travel with your party members, as long as the druid has the required regeants on hand he can transport his party members to designated points, such as moonglade, darnassus and other havens for those seeking shelter from the vast world.

Also, of course, there has to be some spells for our underwater friends, a new style of moonfire called a moonwave, it sends a blast of water at the enemy causing water damage, this new branch of magic form brings with it a whole new set of gear, such as Witches wraps of the Sea and the Staff of the Hydra, etc…

These are some of my thoughts, a huge OP spell that would be awesome to have would be the drown spell, it is a 10 second spell that must not be interrupted to cast and if successful will fill the victims lungs with water slowly cutting off breath and eventually killing them if they are not able to counteract the effects within 30 seconds.

I know, I am out on a limb here, but this is actually pretty fun coming up with new ideas and stuff.

Feral Druid LF Premade pst

Yep, that would be my favorite thing to say lately, my goals in the game are pretty simple and straight-forward.  I am working on upgrading my gear by doing a lot of battlegrounds, so far I have acquired 3 pieces of my epic set.  It has taken a lot of time and dedication, since I reached level 70 a few weeks back this is pretty much all I do in between completing quests for gold and hanging out with friends and guildmates.

From what I have found out by doing this, the best way to give yourself an advantage is to find a premade group that is using vent.  I have grouped up with four different premade groups, each group has been pretty well organized, some more than others.  I have been learning different strategies that I haven’t thought of before as well.

Pretty much how things work is I post a LF premade, usually I only have to wait somewhere between 5 to 15 minutes during peak playing times to get into a raid.  Then, once we are all ready to go with our 15 players the raid leader will que us for Arathi Basin or Eye of the Storm.  Thirteen of us will join up and see if the Horde team is a premade, if it is we will let the leader know and he will then que us up for another battle.

Now, some people would see this technique as taking advantage of the system, but you know what?  It works, and I think the Horde has more premade pvp groups than the Alliance, by the amount of premades I have ran into out there I don’t any remorse for taking on a pug group of 10 players and owning them.  It feels good to win…

Right now I am looking for a 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, and or 5 vs 5 Arena Team to start competing with, I still have a lot of learning to do here, so some skirmishes are definitely needed before I feel I am ready to do anything that will count.

As far as Alterac Valley goes, my results are varied, but the Horde still has the advantage here, seems like every game I join there is someone with their own idea of how to win, most of the time this proves false, but my opinion is that in order to win the Alliance SHOULD NOT rush to the IBGY, we should go to Galv, this gives the Horde enough time to get past IBGY and get to SHGY, this will eliminate a turtle.  Also, almost every time there isn’t anyone staying on defense for the Alliance, now, obviously we would love to see most of the players on Offense, but without any type of defense it is a certain loss for the Alliance.

As far as my pvp skills goes, I feel I am perfecting some techniques as a druid and I really enjoy being the one to stop the runner or be the one to stop someone from capping a flag.  We druids have a whole lot of crowd control at our hands, especially as a feral druid, the feral charge is by far my favorite skill to use, shooting 50 yards at your enemy and stunning them is awesome.  The cyclone skill is something I use only when the player has me close to death or is just an annoyance or a healer.  In almost every fight I find myself in I prefer to start it out in cat prowl mode, then pounce on them, then switch to bear and charge them, mangle, run, charge, mangle, etc…while in bear form there aren’t too many attacks to use, but the point is to outlast your competition while the DPS dealing players on your team take out your target.

I battled it out with another Paladin in an Eye of the Storm round, I was guarding Blood Elf Tower while in cat form and here comes the pally thinking it will be an easy cap…I won’t go into the battle play by play, but a few things of interest I can recall that ensured I won this one was that halfway through it I ran into the room and got the heal, yay for me…and the pally must not have had his bubble ready cause he didn’t use it, yay for me, I stayed in bear form doing the charge, mangle combo and once I cycloned him to heal myself…it didn’t take too long, but it was pretty challenging nonetheless.

Overall the battlegrounds are very fun and can give you a lot of satisfaction if you can find yourself a quality group to play with.

Wowhead man ftw

I know I am so behind the times here, but I was browsing Dark Legacy Comics and came across the Wowhead one, check it out HERE.

I laughed pretty loud here at my lonely desk, well it is 3:30 a.m. and I think I am the only one awake here at work…doh, did I say that out loud?

Anyway, I admit I have been using wowhead.com for a while and it has proven to be invaluable for completing quests and finding information about items and that kind of stuff.

Do you find yourself alt+tabbing out of the game to research information while you are playing?  I am sure I am not alone here.  Luckily I have 2 monitors, so that helps out if I need to reread something while I am in the game.

The original site I used was thottbot.com and it is still out there, but I think wowhead has given it a lot of competition and seems a bit more current.

Armory on the other hand is another story, it seems to update information whenever it feels like, I don’t know if it is on some kind of schedule or how it works really…beyond me…but I am happy it is out there nonetheless.
