Roleplaying – LotRO

One aspect of LotRO that I found very interesting was the ability to create a BIO for your character. Basically adding a history and giving a background to the life he or she might have had or still has. There is a family tree included also, which I am assuming, once you create a surname, you can have a whole family history included.

I chose to make Sean an orphan, the jist of my BIO is he grew up as an orphan learning the ways of the street, scavaging to survive, being a product of his environment. I find the creative process of making a history and bringing my character to life very fun. It is all part of the roleplaying process and something not all games give you the ability to explore.

There is the ability to give yourself a surname once you reach level 15, this can be done in the city’s town hall, for myself this is the town of bree. Since I am an orphan, I will have to research my geneaology to find out my surname. Once thing is for sure, Sean has no plans to have children or a wife, I can only take the roleplaying so far…

Also, I joined a kinship yesterday, Redemption, I will post the website in the near future, but I look forward to some good times gaming with the kinship.

Still farming like as if my life depended on it, the profit’s will soon start mounting up, I am close to reaching Master Expert Farmer, giving me the ability to make a well tended pipeweed field, which guarantees to yield fair plants. I don’t plan on getting rich, just well off enough to be comfortable.

In case anyone is interested I play on the Nimrodel server, the name caught my eye when I first signed up, I thought it was pretty funny, and the name is not without merit, there are a lot of nimrod’s on the server…only 11 more days until official release, get in while you can, you won’t be disappointed.

Nimrodel was a character in The Silmarillion, the lover of Amroth, son of Galadriel. It’s also the name of a river that flows in Lothlorien.
